Jazzitude Pianist On Board

Erlcome Vadj Rp... ack, Scratch that... my mind is a mess.

Welcome Back to Every little p-i-e-c-e of you...

David Bullship, that's me, here to give you the weekly news in what is "rad", "marvey", "far out", "hot", what ever those stupid fucks down at the 7-11 are saying now adays. ELPOYL is here to deliver local, regional, national, and international music news to the fans that I'll refrain from calling "real" as I'm not sure what makes a "real" fan. I guess I'm just feeling discriminatory today.

Lets get this episode moving along with a deliciously moving piece from a well respected "hipster" of the early 60's and 70's. That is right, O'l Vince Gueraldi. The man who single handedly blew up the Jazz scene with his beautifully mastered art transformed into a rainbow of chords and style.

"This is what cool really is, right?"

Yeah, if you've ever heard of him, you'd probably know him for his famous piece called "Linus and Lucy" which was made popular in the 80's from the muti-award winning cartoon, Peanuts. Why that show is so popular, I couldn't reall... ITS THE MUSIC! Cut all the cheesey moral lessons derived heavily from Christianity. Cut all the skin deep relationships the characters had. Take away the nasty little creep who never took physical education in grade school.

"Yeah, thats right, I'm talking about you Pig Pen.
Get it together man."

Despite the lovely atmosphere, two dimensional school children, and the muted trombone adults I'd have to say the music was the best part of the show itself. Which got me to thinking, if the music he writes for this show is great, how much better will the music be if he isn't constrained to Charles's boundaries? PRETTY EFFIN' GOOD!

Unfortunately I can't find any of it online. He seems to be pretty unpopular with this new generation of pirateers. There are a couple of albums I'll post. If you find anything else, give me a heads up at oraclekai (at) gmail (dot) com. Thanks! :)
